CONTENTS

This course is aimed at anyone who wants to get started with data analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics® or who wants to refresh their knowledge.

This course comprehensively covers all the fundamental topics required for working with IBM SPSS Statistics® : importing common third-party formats, which are the starting point for nearly all analyses. However, data management and data preparation usually take up a significant portion of the project duration. Therefore, these topics are given sufficient time in our compact course. Mistakes made in this area impact all subsequent work steps. Intensive practice, especially in the (conditional) calculation of new variables and recoding , promotes the discovery of individual sources of error and their consistent elimination.

To provide a solid foundation for subsequent analyses, we briefly examine the relevant statistical indicators and concepts such as representativeness and normal distribution. The data are also presented in tables and graphical charts .

Naturally, the exercises address common sources of error and problems for all topics. Because even though IBM SPSS Statistics has been established for many years and is very powerful, it is not perfect.

This seminar provides an excellent basis for your further project work with IBM SPSS Statistics.
